Our journey

Rooted in Kano.
Growing Through Community.

Established in 2019, the Women’s Organisation for Relief and Empowerment is a women-led, nonprofit and nonpolitical organisation based in Kano.

Our story grew from listening to community members seeking support. Today, that purpose connects advocacy, traditional leadership, humanitarian relief and opportunities for self-reliance.

Our shared promise

Pledge of WORE

I solemnly pledge my strength, friendship and aid to all women who need it.
I pledge to protect their dignity, honour their worth and salute their self-respect.

I pledge to empower, uplift and inspire them,
To wrap them up with warmth, solidarity and sisterhood
Thereby empowering myself in my own eyes and in the eyes of God.

We pledge together.
We pledge to each other.
We pledge to ourselves.
